William J. Gecsey, Trustee
Blue Cap Foundation

Mr. Gecsey grew up in Iowa, attended the University of Iowa, and subsequently attained a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from St. Ambrose University.  He later attended DePaul University in Chicago and received his Master’s Degree in 1994.  Mr. Gecsey is a CPA and maintains a membership role in the AICPA, Illinois CPA Society and the Executive Club of Chicago.  He currently resides in Elmhurst, Illinois with his wife and their two children. Mr. Gecsey is active in numerous professional, civic and charitable organizations.  In addition to his role as a Trustee for the Blue Cap Foundation, he currently serves as a board member and Chief Executive Officer of TriMed Treatment Centers, Inc.

James Jurik, Vice Chairman
Blue Cap Foundation

Jim Jurik is currently a Senior Vice President with Great Lakes Bank. He has been with the bank for 32 years. Mr. Jurik graduated from Loras College with a degree in accounting. He then went on to earn his CPA certificate. In addition to his work with Blue Cap’s Foundation, Mr. Jurik is also treasurer of the Blue Island Chamber of Commerce. He lives in Oak Forest with his wife and family.
 

Arthur Daniels, Chairman
Blue Cap Foundation

Mr. Daniels joined Sexton Companies in 1967 and rose through field operations and corporate management positions. He has been the President and CEO since 1992, where he has been constant in his commitment to assure that Sexton Companies remain good corporate citizens. Born in Chicago, Mr. Daniels served in the Air Force and attended the University of Illinois. He has been involved with Blue Cap for 15 years, including serving as past Chairman of the Foundation. Mr. Daniels resides in Bannockburn with his family.
 

Sheryl Germany, Trustee
Blue Cap Foundation

Sheryl Germany and her family own Tri-State Disposal, a company founded originally in 1995. Ms. Germany attended Moraine Valley Community College and St. Xavier University. She served previously on the Great Lakes Business Advisory Board and School Board District 128. Ms. Germany was born in Chicago and currently lives in Palos Heights with her family. She has served on the Blue Cap Foundation since 2004.
 

Janet Slawinski, Trustee
Blue Cap Foundation

Ms. Slawinski was active in helping start A&R Security Services with her family in 1967. She then moved to Phoenix, Arizona from 1975 until 1984. Upon returning to the area, she resumed employment at A&R and currently acts as Business Development Manager for the company. Born and raised in Blue Island, Miss Slawinski has been an active board member of many organizations such as the Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce; Strogers Workforce Development Board; Professional Women's Network; Blue Island Chamber of Commerce; and SWABSCO, a national association for building service contractors. Janet joined the Blue Cap Foundation Board as a trustee in 2010.
 

James Thompson, Trustee
Blue Cap Foundation

Mr. Thompson, originally born in Chicago, currently lives in Burr Ridge with his family. He attended DePaul University where he earned both his BS degree in Finance and an MBA. .He worked previously for Chicago City Bank & Trust Company as a Credit Analyst and Loan Officer. Following this Mr. Thompson was with LaSalle Bank for 25 years and was Group Senior Vice President for Loan Administration.. Currently, he  is with The Private Bank in Chicago. Mr. Thompson joined the Blue Cap Foundation in 2006.
 

 

A. Michael Connor, Treasurer
Blue Cap Foundation

Mr. Connor is currently the Treasurer of the Blue Cap Foundation. He is a graduate of Brother Rice Academy and Loyola University in Chicago where he was a Political Science major. Mr. Connor is a partner with Chicago Oak Brook Financial Group, a wealth management company located in Oak Brook, Illinois. Mr. Connor is a long time resident of Downers Grove where he has served on the St. Joseph’s School Board in a variety of capacities including past President.
  

Daniel J. Krause, Secretary
Blue Cap Foundation

Mr. Krause joined the Foundation Board in 2005.  His first introduction to Blue Cap was through his facilitation of a construction project. Mr. Krause managed the construction of a community residence for several adults receiving support through Blue Cap. Prior to this he was an owner of Popeye’s Chicken in Blue Island from 1984 – 2001. He has been the President/CEO of Krause Construction since 1984.  Mr. Krause grew up in Worth Illinois and has been a long time businessman of Blue Island. He currently resides in Monee and is involved in many charitable organizations in addition to Blue Cap.
